Our roving reporter Kelly takes a closer look at the Feeding America truck and the work involved in hosting it.
Lots of all of the above when several groups tackled cleaning up various vacant lots. Fortunately the popsicles came with corny jokes and the kids brought their sense of humor.
The last work day: wheelchair ramps and house painting projects were finished, more lots cleaned, and the Barnabus team stopped by with drumstick ice cream cones.
Beige on white – not exciting but greatly appreciated by the future residents of this Rescue Mission transitional house. The team even seems to have gotten most of the paint on the walls instead of each other 🙂
The construction team begins an extreme porch makeover, removing the rotting screens and previous structure to make way for the new and improved.
The Middle Lake group tackles improvements to the Muskegon Christian Elementary School playground, including spreading a fresh layer of wood chips and repairing the baseball field.
Habitat for Humanity needed a shed for one of their housing projects, so SERVE delivers! The crew constructed the shed from scratch, essentially building a mini-house from the ground up.
Photos are pouring in from all over: painting at Sacred Suds, a local lighthouse, a canoe brigade doing river cleanup, building a Habitat for Humanity shed… whew! The kids are doing a great job of working hard and reaching out to the communities they find themselves in.
Join us for a night of high-energy worship.
Update: we’re all done for the night, but feel free to check in again tomorrow. Same bat-time, same bat-channel.
Our first God Sightings of the week.
After the first work day…
We’ve finished our live broadcast of tonight’s evening session. Come back tomorrow around 6:30 PM EDT to join in the worship.
The night started out with bananas and ended in a great worship time challenging the kids for the week ahead.

Normally the God Sightings bit goes up the day after, but for one night only we have not only yesterday’s but also today’s, hot off the presses:

We start out with a crashing golf cart and go from there… Tuesday’s God Sightings.[audio:09_godsightings_02_tuesday.mp3]
Each evening Dawn (our speaker) does a segment she calls “God Sightings”. It’s a chance for the kids (and adults, but especially the kids) to talk about where they saw God at work that day. I’ll be posting the audio from these bits throughout the week, so enjoy![audio:09_godsightings_01_monday.mp3]
